The poster boy of Indian cricket Virat Kohli, who has been a phenomenal performer throughout his career, turns 29 today. Virat Kohli recently became the second highest run-scorer in T20 cricket, when he played a brilliant knock of 65 runs but couldn’t take his team over the rope as India fell short by 40 runs. The three-match series now level at 1-1, with the last match to be played at Thiruvananthapuram on 7th November.
Starting at an early age, Virat led the u-19 India side to World Cup triumph in Australia and was soon included in the Indian side. From then on, he didn’t have to look back as he scored runs consistently in all the three formats. He was awarded the captaincy role after MS Dhoni stepped down from the Test cricket and later on in ODI and T20I’s. He became the youngest captain ever to lead an Indian side. The men in blue skipper have made it a habit of breaking records as he recently broke Ricky Pointing’s record of 30 ODI hundred to be at the second spot behind master blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s 49 ODI hundreds.
Wishes from all parts of the world were poured in his social media accounts. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished his happy and healthy life. Wishes from his teammates and head coach Ravi Shastri also flooded his twitter accounts.
Here are some of the twitter reactions:
