Twitter Reacts After India’s Dramatic Collapse Gives Australia An Edge In Bengaluru Test
Jan 9, 2019 at 4:10 PM
After India started from the overnight score of 213 for four to see the hosts adding 25 runs without losing the wicket on the day four in Bengaluru before the dramatic collapse took place.
It was the appearance of a new ball on a wearing pitch as Australia made a remarkable comeback while bagging six wickets after giving away 61 runs in the first session.
Fast bowler Mitchell Star opened the floodgates who was equally supported by Josh Hazlewood at the other end as both claimed four wickets within the space of 9 deliveries while giving away 8 runs.
Six-star performance from Hazlewood has set India on the backfoot penultimate day after Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane put on the resilient show on Day Three. Starc, Steve O’Keefe picked two wickets each.
However, wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha and Ishant Sharma added crucial 16 runs for the last wicket when India was reeling at 258 for 9.
The hosts were bundled out for 274. India has set the target of 188 runs for Australia to win the second Test.
Here’re some of the reactions from Twitterites:
Pujara throws it away, India gifting the game away here?

So this 6/36 makes it 4 collapses in 4 innings for India . Though still feel 188 is not going to be an easy chase for Australia.#INDvsAUS

India’s last five wickets haven’t added much this series:
5-10
5-8
5-15
5-36#INDvAUS— Samuel Ferris (@samuelfez) March 7, 2017
So after India score their highest total of the series Australia need their lowest to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy #INDvAUS
