Ravichandran Ashwin once again showed why he is the highest ranked all-rounder in Test cricket. The Tamil Nadu cricketer completed a magnificent all-round performance with seven wickets to bowl India to a huge victory by an innings and 92 runs on the fourth day of the first Test against the West Indies in Antigua .
He followed his third Test hundred-113- with his maiden five-wicket haul out of Asia by taking seven for 83. The off-spinner produced a bowling masterclass and triggered a second-innings collapse that saw West Indies getting reduced to 132/8 from 88/2 on the fourth and penultimate day.
India bowled out the West Indies for 243 in their first innings, after posting a mammoth total of 566 for eight declared after opting to bat. Asked to follow on, the hosts finished the third day on 21 for 1. Resuming their second innings following on at the overnight position of 21 for one, the hosts were dismissed for 231 to hand India a 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series.
This result was India’s largest margin of victory in a Test match outside of Asia.
Let us see how the Twitterati reacted to Ashwin’s brilliant performance.

@ashwinravi99 will perhaps treasure the 5 wicket haul in this innings more than his century. Hasnt had much bowling success overseas earlier
