India’s ace-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is on cloud nine after bagging the coveted ICC Test Cricketer of the Year award and also the ICC Cricketer of the Year in the ICC awards held in Dubai on Thursday.
For spilling his magic with both and ball, Ashwin was bestowed with the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy. During the cut-off date decided by the ICC to consider performances from September 14, 2015 to September 20, 2016, Ashwin scored 336 runs and scalped 48 wickets in Tests, to better his competitors and hold the precious memento in his hand.
The Indian vice-captain thanked his parents, team staff and management for motivating him to pursue his dreams and achieve such massive heights and also said he is honored to hold the trophies in his hand.
