On the eve of his 43rd birthday, Sourav Ganguly said, “Nothing new…This time, I’m in Kolkata and will spend the time with my family.”
Sourav Gnaguly is one of the successful captains of India, played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs.
Leading the Men in Blue to the famous NatWest triumph in 2002, Ganguly was instrumental in instilling confidence and aggression in the Indian side that was timid and docile in demeanor over the years.
Ganguly is the first Indian captain who led India in three consecutive ICC tournament finals between 2000 and 2003. However, he finished on the wrong side two times and once rain forced India to share the trophy with Sri Lanka.
Captain Ganguly reformed Indian cricket from the fixing saga of 2000, and since then built a team that was world beater. He moulded team India with his hand. Because of his acute as well as agressive captaincy, now not only India’s art of playing cricket is well respected among the cricket spectators, but also the approach of Indian cricketers to the match has earned praise from the critics around the world.
