Traditionally, Mumbai Indians has been a generous side. They are very well-known for giving fair chances to young names and groom them for the higher level. This attitude of identifying and acquiring young talents whether local or foreign has given them a great bench strength and a lot of exciting options to choose from. Logically speaking, they don’t seem to be in need of specific players in their squad. But there’s always room for adding variety. And, the variety, at the moment seems to be required in spin bowling department and perhaps the middle-order.
While Harbhajan Singh, Krunal Pandya, J Suchith, Shreyas Gopal all are capable tweakers, an experienced leg spinner’s addition would make their spin department complete giving skipper Rohit Sharma more options. Also, a hard hitting finisher would also add more firepower to the batting line-up. Imran Tahir, the South African leg-spinner and England’s limited-overs skipper Eoin Morgan seem to be good contenders to fill those couple of spots. Whether Mumbai Indians go after them at the auction is a completely different story, but as of now, Sportzwiki tries to analyse the potential of both players.
