South Africa’s spin bowling leader, Imran Tahir brings experience and wicket-taking ability to the team. Cementing his position as the most preferred spinner in a fast-bowling heavy Proteas team for almost half a decade is no simple feat. Tahir has every trick in his kitty to achieve success in limited-overs format and he has successfully done it regularly at the international level.
The Mumbai franchise wouldn’t mind having an experienced leg-spinner to partner another veteran Harbhajan Singh in the team. Also, his inclusion would also mean great mentorship to the inexperienced spin bowling brigade. His recent form is also another luring factor which should prompt Mumbai Indians.
The leg-spinner is currently on top of the ICC T20I rankings and was South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in both ODIs and T20Is in 2016.
