Shubham Gill – Gill made noise in junior cricket when he scored two centuries in England for India U-19. Riding on his twin centuries in the series, he made it to the India A side for the ‘A’ series against New Zealand A.

However, a side strain suffered during the Punjab Ranji camp ruled him out of the series. Later, he also missed Ranji Trophy games and the same issue is seen as one of the reasons why he didn’t travel with the side for the Asia Cup.

His presence could have made a big difference for the side. It is still unknown whether he was not selected due to the back strain or the policy of the coach to let better players play Ranji Trophy.
