A Huge controversy has happened in U 19 World Cup. West Indies pacer Keemo Paul Mankad Zimbabwe’s last batsman Richard Nagarava. Zimbabwe needed three runs from the last over to win a match to qualify for the quarterfinal. But, Keemo Paul noticed that Richard Nagarava was stepping out to take a single. So Paul ran from his mark but did not roll his arm instead he came straight to break the bails to run out Nagarava.
On field umpires also decided to give run out as the ICC law recognised the attempt as run out to restrict batsman.
Wide range of opinion following the run out that ended the West Indies-Zimbabwe game. As it should be. #U19CWC

No issue with the Mankading. Rules are rules blah. But perhaps it should be rebranded as a “sneaky bastarding”, just to be clear… #U19CWC

Played cricket for 40 years, always had to give a warning. It’s wrong. #mankad @BlacksInCricket @josbuttler #U19CWC

No issue with Mankads but do hope new West Indies are as uncompromising in batting, bowling and fielding as they are running out non-striker

Don’t like the sound of this Mankading thing at the U19 World Cup…it appears West Indies have had a shocker there…
