Ultimate Aim Is To Win, That’s Why Won 5-0 In A Row, Says Kohli

India, on Monday, scripted an emphatic win over England at the iconic Wankhede stadium, thereby sealing the five-match series 3-0. Virat Kohli, India skipper, led from the front, scoring his third double ton in Tests while Ravichandran Ashwin also came up with a stellar performance as he took a total of 12 wickets in the match.

Virat, after the match was all praise for his players as he said India has a good bench strength now which, as a captain, expands his options to field players according to the conditions. He also claimed the mindset of a team is very important to succeed and feels the current Indian team is going in the right direction.

“We have been in winning positions more often than not. Even with the teams that we have played, we have made a quite a few changes and the guys have bought into it so as a captain it gives you total freedom to play the eleven according to conditions we are playing in,” Kohli said.

“The ultimate aim has been to win games and win series and that’s why we have won 5 in a row. As I said, it has been an outstanding effort by the guys so far and it may continue as we are going to play together for another 8-10 years and this mindset should continue for us to become a top quality consistent side.”

This was India’s 13th Test win under Virat Kohli. Also, India are yet to lose a Test series under Kohli’s captaincy.
