Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released the list of contracted players for this year which has seen some major changes. Comeback man Mohammed Amir has been awarded a B-Category contract while stars like Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad has been demoted to D-category contract which is the lowest of all the contracts.
Veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi, Junaid Khan and Fawad Alam were cut from the contracted list of players altogether in the newly released list. The current listed contracts will run from October 1,2016 to September 30,2017.
Shehzad who has not been in the team off late has seen a huge dip in his contract as he was degraded from Category B to D. Umar Akmal has been demoted from Category C to D this year while out-of-favor Shahid Afridi has been removed from the contracted players altogether.
Yasir Shah who has been the face of Pakistan bowling in the recent months has been promoted to Category A contract which wicketkeeper and captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is also clubbed into A category contract list.
Hasan Ali, Khalid Latif, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Sohail Khan and Sohail Tanvir were awarded with a C-category contract as they were not included in the last year’s contract list while Mohammad Asghar was given a category D contract.
Youngsters Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Amin were dropped from the list as the duo had a Category D contract in the last year’s list.

Category D: Anwar Ali, Zulfiqar Babar, Mohammad Asghar, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal
