That not everything is fine between Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni was very much clear when there was absolutely no trace of the latter in the former India skipper’s biographical film.
The film, which traced Dhoni’s rise from small-town boy to a world-class cricketer, showed Dhoni’s parents, as well as his elder sister Jayanti but Narendra, was nowhere to be seen. However, Narendra Singh Dhoni downplayed any speculations of a rocky relationship with his younger brother.
The Untold Story of MS Dhoni’s Elder Brother Narendra Singh Dhoni
“It must have been the filmmaker’s choice. What can I say?” Narendra Singh Dhoni told The Telegraph newspaper.
“I may be non-existent in the movie because I don’t have many contributions in Mahi’s life — be it during his childhood, his struggle as a young man or after he became MSD for the world.”‘The film is about Mahi, not his family,” he added.
But speculations were still rife that the wicketkeeper-batsman was not on talking terms with his brother and the latest incidents are only going to strengthen those rumours. With Team India playing Test series, Dhoni is spending some quality time away from the hustle and bustle of international cricket.
However, the World Cup-winning still could not manage some time to visit a hospital in Ranchi where his brother was fighting for his life. Narendra was admitted to the hospital for the removal of stones from his gall bladder. The doctors removed three stones from his gallbladder. And while his parents paid him a visit in the hospital, there was no trace of his younger brother, who is currently not playing for the Indian team.
Moreover, things are becoming more clear with Narendra posting cryptic messages on his Facebook profile which gives a hint that he does not have the best of relationships with his younger brother.
Narendra, meanwhile, is a politician in Ranchi and lives with his wife and two kids. The last whereabouts known of him is, that he had joined Samajwadi Party in 2013. Prior to joining SP, he was with BJP.
