The venues for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League have been decided and locked. The Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, which was supposed to host the second qualifier, will now be hosting the first qualifier.

The second qualifier will be hosted by Ranchi and will be played at the JSCA stadium. The reason behind the sudden in change in venues is said to be due to “logistic reasons”. Kolkata is to host the all important final and its close proximity to Ranchi has been the reason behind the change.

The Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium on the outskirts of Pune will host the eliminator.

Dr PV Shetty, the Joint Secretary of the Mumbai Cricket Association said, “We have been informed that we will now host the first qualifier on May 19.”

With half the tournament over, the Chennai Super Kings are well placed at the top of the table with 6 wins in 7 games. On a contrasting note, the Kings XI Punjab are at the bottom with just 2 wins from 7 games.

PLAYOFFS FIXTURES:

Qualifer 1 : Q1 vs Q2 in Mumbai

Eliminator: Q3 vs Q4 in Pune

Qualifier 2: Loser ( Qualifier 1) vs Winner ( Eliminator) in Ranchi

Final: Winner (Qualifier 1) vs Winner (Qualifier 2) in Eden Gardens, Kolkata
