Veteran Devendra Bundela To Lead Madhya Pradesh In Ranji Trophy

Devendra Bundela, the most capped cricketer in the history of Ranji Trophy, is all set to lead Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. This will be the 23rd domestic season for the 40-year-old batsman, who is 336 runs short of completing 10000 runs in first-class cricket.

Madhya Pradesh side consists of likes of Naman Ojha and Ishwar Pandey as well. They both have been part of the Indian team in the past. Harpreet Singh Bhatia, member of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2017, has been named as the vice-captain.
The team also includes youngsters like Avesh Khan, Ankit Sharma, Puneet Datey and Mihir Hirwani. Avesh, who last played a first-class game in 2015, will look to break into playing XI as recently, he had performed well and was also in the Board President’s XI squad for the practice game against Australia in Chennai.

The success of the Madhya Pradesh will again depend on Bundela, Ojha, Ishwar Pandey and all-rounder Harpreet Singh Bhatia.
Madhya Pradesh will face Baroda in their opening encounter from October 6. They will take on Mumbai, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha in their following games.
