India’s head coach Anil Kumble was left fuming after Cheteshwar Pujara became a victim of poor umpiring decision on the final day of the first Test against England.
Chasing 310 for an improbable win, the hosts started their innings disastrously when Gautam Gambhir was dismissed without bothering the scorers. India were in further trouble when first inning centurion Cheteshwar Pujara was adjudged Leg Before Wicket with only 47 runs on the board.
Trying to play a flatter delivery off Adil Rashid, Pujara missed the line and the ball hit him low on the pad. English players went up in unison and Kumar Dharmasena, who has faced severe criticism for his decision making in recent times, raised his finger straight away. However, replays showed the ball was pitching outside the leg and a review would have saved him, surely. But Pujara walked off straight away much to the annoyance of Anil Kumble. Murali Vijay, who was standing at the other end, also did not advise Pujara to review the decision.
When the camera shifted towards the Indian dressing room, Kumble, who is known as a calm and a composed man, was seen giving a piece of his mind to someone.

Meanwhile, the poor decision did not prove too costly in the end for the hosts as they managed to draw the game. But the draw did not come easy for the Indian team as the English bowlers gave them a mighty scare by dismissing six of their batsmen. But Virat Kohli held firm from one end to ensure a draw.
