Mirpur witnessed an absolute thriller of a game as Bangladesh trounced England in a low scoring encounter. After being in a spot of bother, Bangladesh were rescued by their skipper Mashrafe Mortaza as his cameo lower down the order got the hosts to a decent score.
From the bowling front as well, it was Mortaza who led Bangladesh’s response as he struck early to destabilize the England top order. Mortaza’s counterpart Jos Buttler was solid as he was determined to get his side past the winning line. Buttler was aggressive in his approach and was set to play a fine match winning knock.
However, he was trapped in front by young pacer Taskin Ahmed. After originally he was adjudged not out, the Bangladeshi players went up for a review and had it in their favor. Seeing the screen display the decision, the Bangladeshi players were ecstatic and celebrated wildly. A couple of individuals were right into Buttler’s face to let him know what they felt.
That didn’t go down too well with England’s skipper as he was seen leaving with a mouthful directed towards the Bangladeshi players. Buttler even went on to criticize the hosts for their celebrations. “I think we were a bit tentative with the way we went about it. Yeah 238 was very chaseable. It was a good wicket. We bowled fantastically well upfront. We could’ve restricted them to 190-200 but Mashrafe played really well. I felt that it wasn’t easy to bat initially. Disappointed with the way Bangladesh celebrated,” said Buttler.
