Video - Brendon McCullum Chokes On Chewing Gum 1

Chewing gum has always been an indispensable part of Brendon McCullum’s unflappable swagger. Whether he is thrashing bowlers all around the park or instructing his players on the field, the former New Zealand skipper never forgets to keep a chewing gum in his mouth.

But little did he know that the same chewing gum will make him feel uneasy on the field. In fact, the explosive batsman was seen throwing up next to the pitch due to a chewing gum.

The incident happened when he was batting for Brisbane Heat against Melbourne Renegades. Batting on 65, the Brisbane Heat skipper suddenly sat down on the field and started coughing up before the 12th man rushed on to help him. Initially, it looked like the 35-year-old succumbed to heatstroke in the 11th over. However, his teammate later revealed that the former New Zealand star had a chewing gum caught in his throat.

Here is a clip of that incident:

The incident, it seemed, had affected his concentration as he was dismissed in the very next over after scoring 64 off only 40 balls. However, the quickfire knock was not enough to take his team home as the Brisbane-based outfit lost the match by one-run while chasing 199.
