Video: Chris Gayle celebrated with batsman after dismissing him 1

One does not simply celebrate with a batsman after dismissing him, until and unless he is Chris Gayle. Yeah, you read it right, the West Indies superstar celebrated with his compatriot Ravi Rampaul after dismissing him. The super-cool Gayle is quite a character — on and off the field. The swashbuckling batsman believes in living life to the fullest and his positive energy is totally refreshing. Whether he is hitting sixes at will, celebrating a wicket, or doing any dance on the field, Gayle is loved by one and all.

The funny incident happened during a Caribbean Premier League game between Gayle’s Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents. Batting first Jamaica posted a huge total of 195 in their 20 overs with the help of half-centuries from  Chadwick Walton(97) and former Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara (50). Gayle could not do much with the bat and was dismissed after scoring only 8. In reply, the Trident kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually lost the match by 36 runs(D/L method).

Now coming to the incident, Barbados were 9 wickets down and Rampaul was on the crease. Gayle, who was bowling the 18th over of that innings, was hit for a huge six by Rampaul on the third delivery of that over. However, the Jamaican star had the last laugh as he dismissed Rampaul on the very next ball. Gayle bowled a slower delivery just outside the off stamp. Rampaul, trying to send it over the fence, sat on his knees and hit the ball hard but only as far as Shakib-al-Hasan who took an easy catch. But what followed surprised everyone. A delighted  Gayle was seen taking  a horse riding on Rampaul’s back. The West Indies pacer took it in a good sense as both the players were seen sharing a handshake afterwards with a smiling face.

After the game, Gayle was quoted as saying: Rampaul got me out and I got him out. It’s one-all.
