We all usually hear that Test matches are so boring it can go for five days and still end in a draw. And fans are often seen in the stands yawning and looking bored. However, after seeing this video fans might not sleep in the stands again. When one fan decided to rest his eyes when England were playing against Pakistan at Old Trafford, he had to pay a good price for it.
Pakistan had just begun their first innings in reply to hosts’ mammoth first innings of 589 for 8 declared. Openers Mohammad Hafeez and Shan Masood made a cautious start and the score was 17 for 0 when the hilarious incident took place. The English fan fell asleep and was picked up by cameras as fans covered him in beer cups and other items. Other fans in the stand took it in turns as they attempted to create a tower of random objects on his head as he remained surprisingly unaware of the incident. The cricket fan’s nap had turned into a deep sleep – so deep that he didn’t wake up when a plastic glass of beer was placed upside down on his head with the drink spilling out onto his forehead.
Even the commentators were heard laughing after witnessing the incident. Cricketer turned commentator Nasser Hussain said that the fan shouldn’t worry because “no one” had seen his embarrassing moment.
The former England skipper said:”Don’t worry mate, you got away with it no one has seen it, wakey wakey.”
Here is the video which shows why you should never fall asleep in a cricket stadium:
