Ever since the umpire cameras have been introduced in cricket, some really funny scenes have been captured in it and one such hilarious incident was witnessed when Otago Volts were playing against Central Districts in New Zealand’s domestic T20 tournament.
The funny incident took place in the tenth over of the Central District’s innings. Dutch all-rounder Ryan Ten Doeschate was the bowler. Doeschate bowled a short delivery just outside the off stump to batsman George Worker. Worker, with all his force, tried to pull it but mistimed it and the ball after taking the inside edge dropped right in front of the bowler. But the batsman at the non-striker end, Kruger Van Wyk, who just like others thought that ball has been hit hard, came out of the pitch but after seeing the ball being mistimed and falling in front of the bowlers, he hurriedly turned back to avoid a runout. However, he fell right on the pitch and seeing that he is still short of the crease, he started crawling towards the pitch. His hilarious attempt to avoid a run out even had the commentators laughing hard at him.
