During the Sheffield Trophy game between Tasmania and South Australia, George Bailey was spotted batting with a unique, strange, and awkward batting stance which attracted the attention of many. He was batting having his back facing the bowler, standing way outside leg stump and then coming back to his right to play the ball in a normal manner. His strange stance has really stunned many of us as hardly we see any regular batsman tinkering with his batting stance, even in domestic cricket. Bailey is one of the strongest pillars for Australian cricket team in limited overs format and never we have seen him making alteration like this.
Till now, we only knew one batsman with a strange stance i.e. Shivnarine Chanderpaul but now Bailey has made his way to this list by opting to bat with a strange style.
However, his awkward stance paid off for him as he scored 142* runs in the third innings of the game, but, still, could not save his team from a loss as Tasmania lost it by a margin of an innings and 94 runs.
Joe Mennie, the 12th man of the Perth Test between Australia and South Africa was also part of the game, he scalped 3 wickets in 30 overs he bowled.
