Video – IPL 2017 – MS Dhoni Stumps AB de Villiers In A Flash

MS Dhoni might be ageing with every passing day, but that has definitely not deteriorated his wicketkeeping skills one bit.

The above statement was re-lived yet again at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore during the home team’s clash with the Rising Pune Supergiants.

In pursuit of a modest target of 162 on a decent batting wicket, the hosts were in for some trouble when skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed for just 28 off a bouncer from Ben Stokes. The onus was on world boss AB de Villiers and despite playing a little slowly as per his standards, de Villiers didn’t seem to be in any discomfort.

If the visitors were to salvage any chances of winning the game, it was essential to get rid of the danger man de Villiers and then have a shot at the other batsmen. In a bid to do so, Imran Tahir was brought into the attack and the veteran leggie responded instantly.

On the second delivery of the 11th over, Tahir viciously spun the ball away from de Villiers, which the latter missed. De Villiers, however, was out of his crease, and being the gem behind the stumps he is, Dhoni calmly collected the ball and whipped the bails off.

De Villiers was well short of his ground and the third umpire just confirmed that. Check out the video below, of Dhoni stumping AB de Villiers within a flash.
