Warning, warning and a warning again, this has been the case with Ravindra Jadeja till now in this India vs New Zealand Test series. Both Jadeja and multiple warnings have gone hand in hand this series. Remember the last game? When Jadeja was warned twice for running on the danger area of the pitch. Even after being warned twice, he again continued his act but at that time umpire showed some leniency and did not ban him from rest of the innings. He being banned would have been a great loss for Indian cricket team but that is a past case now.
The third Test match started, for the first time after almost 1 and a half day Jadeja was again on the crease bearing the same habit of running down to the danger area again but this time he was performing the role of a batsman. Jadeja was earlier warned twice for running straight on the pitch but again Jadeja did not care much about warnings from umpires and continued to jog on the danger area. This time, though umpire did not have the luxury to ban him from batting but he had a way to put this thing n Jadeja’s mind. A penalty of 5 runs was imposed on team India according to which the New Zealand openers will start their innings from a score of 5 .
Though one might be thinking that 5 runs may not be a big number as this is not a T20 or an ODI game but it’s more about the rules and regulations rather than just 5 runs. Every player has to adhere to the rules which are made, a casual attitude towards it should not be the case. We hope that the captain will have a talk with Jadeja and he may not repeat the same mistake again. The picture will be clearer when Jaddu will come out to bowl today or maybe tomorrow.
