Video: When Jason Roy Clashed With the Ball Boy During Kanpur T20I Game 1
England batsman Jason Roy collided with the ball boy during Kanpur game.

During the first T20I match between India and England at Green Park stadium, England batsman Jason Roy collided with the ball boy on the boundary line.

The incident happened, when Indian skipper Virat Kohli whacked a good length delivery to Liam Plunkett in the fourth over off to cover’s area. In the quest to stop the ball touching the boundary ropes, Roy unintentionally romped into the ball boy and pushed him down. After the collision, Roy showed a kind gesture and helped him to get up.

Roy was in news some 24 hours back, as he became only the second player after Ben Stokes to make himself available in the IPL auction, which happens on Saturday (February 4) in Bangalore.

On the pitch in Kanpur, which had some cover of grass, England after winning the toss asked India to bat. In their 20 overs, the hosts could manage only 147 for seven as Moeen Ali picked up two wickets while all others shared one each. For India, former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored the highest (36*).
