Defeats are sometimes hard to digest and Krishmar Santokie’s reaction in a CPL game proved it right. During a game between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Guyana Amazon warriors, frustrations got the better of St Kitts bowler Santokie who threw a ball aggressively towards the batsman after fielding a ball defended back to him.
The incident happened in the 16th over of the game. Chasing 108 to win, the scores became level in the penultimate delivery of the 16th over. Steven Jacobs was facing the last ball of that over. Santokie bowled a full delivery and Jacobs dead-batted it back to Santokie who threw the ball towards the batsman out of frustration and anger. Santokie was lucky that Steven Jacobs got his bat in the way and kept a cool head before the umpires intervened. However, it’s likely Santokie will be hearing from the match referee over the incident.

Coming to the match, Adam Zampa and Sohail Tanvir’s brilliant performance with the ball helped Guyana to restrict St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to a paltry total of 108 runs.
Adam Zampa’s three wickets helped him become the Caribbean Premier League’s leading wicket-taker. Lendl Simmons was the only major contributor for St Kitts with 50 runs off 60 balls. Apart from him, only two batsmen could cross the double digit mark.
Chasing 108, Guyana batsmen made a mockery of the small target as after losing Dwayne Smith cheaply, Martin Guptill and Chris Lynn shared a 60-run partnership to tilt the game in their team’s favour. Guptill slammed four sixes and three boundaries in his knock of 43 from 22 balls while Lynn scored 32 off 37. A mini-collapse followed after the fall of the third wicket but it was too late for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Guyana finally chased down the total in the 17th over. The win helped Guyana Amazon Warriors to maintain their unbeaten run in this season.
