The 35-year-old, who recently stepped down from the limited-overs captaincy, has been going through a lean phase with the bat for quite some time now. In the last year, he managed one 50-plus score as he hit only 278 runs in 13 outings and the poor form continued in the first match against England too. On a pitch that was anything less than a batting paradise, he could manage only six runs.
But the Indian cricket star, it seems, has left behind that setback and is sweating it out in the nets ahead of the second ODI at Cuttack. Fans across the country are hoping to see the vintage Dhoni since he has been relieved of the captaincy duty and looking at the shots that he was playing in the nets, one can sense that he is gearing up to get back to his devastating best with the willow.
