Ishant Sharma in the last over conceded 18 runs as Glenn Maxwell hit a couple of boundaries. In the last delivery of the penultimate over substitute Manish Pandey, took a brilliant catch at square leg which ended Maxwell innings and Australia’s innings ended for 348.
Aaron Finch hit his seventh ODI hundred at Manuka Oval, Canberra. He has built an 187 runs partnership with David Warner, who scored 93. Their partnership helped middle-order batsman Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh went for big. But, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma gave India three crucial wickets that halted Australia’s momentum of run scoring in the death overs.
But, Glenn Maxwell played a cameo innings at the end. He hit a 19 ball 41 that helped Australia to score 348. Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma took 3 and four wickets each, but they conceded 67 and 77 runs respectively.
Earlier Steve Smith winning the toss elected to bat first. Opener David Warner and Aaron Finch has built an 187 run partnership.
David Warner scored 93 before bowled by Ishant Sharma while Aaron Finch scored his 7th hundred. Later Steve Smith scored a 29 ball 51 and Mitchell scored 33 off 42 balls.
