Hardly we see a pair of real brothers playing the game at international level together, but when they play, it’s special moments for them, for the team, the country, the crowd and their families. The happiness of the both playing together increase manifolds if both are able to crop up with great performances on the day. Same happened on the first day of the first Test match between South Africa and Australia when Marsh brothers, who have rarely played alongside came up with great respective catches contributing to the team efforts to dismiss South Africa on a low total.

It was the first over of the day when the Australian bowling spearhead Mitchell Stac drew a wide edge out of open Stephen Cook’s bat which was going flying over the slips before Mitchell Marsh stretched to his full, jumped and robbed the passing object to affect the first wicket fo the day. His marvelous efforts provided Australia with the first wicket of the day to provide an early blow to South Africans.
The great form provided in the first over continued till last as African team could just put a total of 242 runs on the board.
On the way to this score, many times African team tried to make a comeback in the game, which they did once, before the elder Marsh, Shaun Marsh came up with a close and tight catch to dismiss Temba Bavuma.

The catch was neither at fast pace nor was something like that came to Mitchell Marsh but it was as low as bowling African team today. Shaun Marsh went underneath the bowling and grabbed a great catch which reminded us of Eknath Solkar.
Both the catches highlighted the day with Warner and Australian bowlers taking an equal share of attention.
