In one of the rarest moments in cricket ever a batsman was cleaned bowled and still, the batting side was awarded four runs. Well, during the second ODI against England, a similar incident happened with former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.
It was the third ball of the 44th over, when MS Dhoni missed the length completely off Liam Plunkett’s bowling, resulting in him getting bowled. Since it was free-hit so Dhoni survived a fall of a wicket, but anyhow the ball clipped the bails and went straight over the head of wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, and crossed the boundary rope.
Thus, it was a given a boundary and the runs were added to the India’s score tally. Looking at the incident, England players must be wondering what more bad can happen to them. Their bowlers were, however, taken for a ride except for Chris Woakes, who took four crucial wickets in the first innings.
