Video: Star Sports launch Mauka Mauka before the Indo vs Pak clash
India lost the dramatic tournament opener against New Zealand by 45 runs in a low scoring match. New Zealand scored 126 and India were folded up for 79. With this victory, New Zealand extended their T20 win-loss ratio against India 5-0
But, now the second T20 will be held at Eden Gardens on March 19 between two arch nemesis India and Pakistan. Pakistan have never won a match against India in World T20. India defeated Pakistan on four occasions.
Star Sports the official broadcaster of the match in 2015 World Cup launched a ‘Mauka Mauka’ advertisement to market the India’s match against other countries which has become popular in the Indian subcontinent.
India started their World Cup against Pakistan. The ‘Mauka Mauka’ advertisement mocked Pakistan 0-5 records in World Cup. Stars Sports’ idea was to mock Pakistan and provoke them to win the February 15 match 2015 against India, but they lost the match without posing any challenge to India. India extended their winning streak 6-0 in World Cup.
Like the World Cup, Pakistan also have the worst records against India in World T20. Both countries met each other four times. India defeated their arch nemesis all four occasions.
They met each other for the first time in 2007 World Cup where they played each other in the group stage and final. Pakistan on both occasions lost the match.
The next time they met each other in 2012 World T20 in Sri Lanka and in 2014 Bangladesh World T20.
This time, the match will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata where Pakistan have won their all four matches against India. So, it will be interesting to watch whether Pakistan keep their winning streak at Eden Gardena intact or India keep their World T20 winning streak against Pakistan intact.
