Cricket has seen may acute rivalry between a bowler and a batsman. One of them is Darren Powell of the West Indies and Brendon McCullum of the New Zealand. Darren Powell was a confused cricketer since childhood. He wanted to be a batsman who can spin the ball but ended up being a medium fast bowler for West Indies.

He played four Test matches against New Zealand, one in Bridgetown, West Indies and remaining three in New Zealand. Since 2006, he played three matches in New Zealand. During this time, he and Brendon McCullum were involved in an on-pitch fight. In one of the incidents, Darren tried to hit McCullum by throwing the ball, but he pitched it in a wrong place and wicketkeeper Dinesh Ramdin managed to catch the delivery. The umpire called it a no-ball.
