The tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) got off to a blazing start here in Hyderabad thanks to a couple of Indians. At first and right at the top, it was India’s limited overs opener Shikhar Dhawan who made a strong case for himself with a solid knock of 40 right at the top. Dhawan’s knock pretty much provided Sunrisers Hyderabad with the base which they needed after David Warner was dismissed early.
But the night took off altogether once crowd favorite and India’s greatest match winner Yuvraj Singh got in the middle. After Dhawan was dismissed by Stuart Binny, in walked Yuvraj to a rousing reception from the Hyderabad crowd.
The flamboyant all rounder was up and running right away as he unleashed a flurry of eye catching strokes. With Yuvraj in, Shane Watson handed over the ball to left arm pacer Aniket Choudhary. This however, turned out to be a fatal mistake from Bangalore’s perspective.
Yuvraj began assaulting the pacer right from the start as he hit a couple of fours and one towering six within the first three deliveries. Singh rolled back the years with his fine stroke play as he went on a rampage. In all, Yuvraj took 18 runs off that over from Choudhary.
Below, is the video of Yuvraj Singh attacking in full flow.
