Indian team could have dealt an early blow in form of Virat Kohli at a score of just 10 but an umpiring gaffe aided Virat Kohli, to have a stint of two more overs at the crease.
It was the second delivery of the third over of the game from Chris Jordan which went on to touch the pads of Virat Kohli. Bowler along with the fielding team appealed for leg before but the umpire moved his face left and right, declaring the batsman not out.
Kohli, who was looking to play it down with a horizontal bat failed to make any contact with the ball and the replays showed the ball was going to touch his leg stump but umpire failed to read the trajectory well and adjudged Kohli not out.
It was the second lifeline to Virat Kohli as earlier Sam Billings dropped a difficult chance of Kohli at the ropes behind the wickets.
However, Kohli did not have a long stay at the crease as he was soon dismissed on a score of 21 off 15 balls. Kohli again failed to capitalise on a good start to his innings, putting pressure on the middle order.
