Video: Virat Kohli Unhappy With Gautam Gambhir’s Ponderous Fielding Effort

After getting a great start in the first session of the day, a reverse counting started for the Indian team as Joe Root and Moeen Ali stamped their foot on the crease piling up of oodles of runs, sharing a big partnership to get their team out of a tough and rough situation. They started off well right from the start of the second session of the day, tackling Ashwin’s and Jadeja’s spin gently and bravely.
They were milking singles and doubles between the wickets adding crucial runs to the scoreline. Already deflated and tensed by leakage of runs, what can be the last thing you want as a captain? Sloppy fielding? Nah.
It was the 54th over of the game when Joe Root swept one past the wicket-keeper. Gambhir ran a long way down the ground to chase the ball but batsmen had already covered a distance of 66 years to add three more runs on the board. To add more, Gambhir’s throw was not accurate and way away from either of the required ends, which did not amuse skipper Virat Kohli, who did not seem satisfied with the throw. Though he did not react but yes his facial expressions showed that he was not happy.
Surely, as a captain, it is the last thing which you want from a player. England were 273/3 in 79 overs.
