After helping India take an unassailable 2-0 lead against England in the ongoing ODI series, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh have thanked fans for their constant support. Both players took to Facebook to post their messages for their millions of fans.
Kohli had scored 122 in the first ODI at Pune when India chased down England’s mammoth 350-run target. The newly-appointed skipper has been overwhelmed by the backing he has received from fans through thick and thin and took to the social media to acknowledge their immense contributions.
“Just wanted to make this video and thank all of you for the love and support. The energy that you have shown for the team has been immense and all your positive thoughts and wishes have really worked for us. So, thank you so much. God bless you all,” Kohli said.
In the second ODI, it was Yuvraj Singh’s turn to come to the party and the southpaw did not disappoint. India were reeling at 25 for 3 but Yuvraj scored a career-best 150 and added 256 runs with Mahendra Singh Dhoni (134) to help the hosts post 381. Virat Kohli’s men eventually won the match by 15 runs.
Yuvraj is playing his first ODI series after 2013 and has received constant support from his fans throughout his career, and he made sure to thank them after playing the monumental knock.
“Just want to say 13 million on Facebook today. Thank you for your love and support and your best wishes. It has been a fantastic journey. Never give up the fight. Always believe in yourself,” the 35-year old said.
