Video: Why people say Sachin is God of cricket ? 1

Legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar retired from international cricket in 2013.

He has won the 2011 World Cup, the dream of his life. He is regarded as the greatest batsman of the 21st century. He dominated the great bowlers in his career.

His career prospered after the 1994 New Zealand tour. He gave a lesson to the world cricket that Indian batsman will no more bow down to fast bowlers on overseas tour. Sachin blasted New Zealand bowlers and then he bruised Shane Warne in Sharjah which is fondly known as ‘Sand Strom’ in cricketing circles.

In 2000 Champions Trophy, he attacked Glenn McGrath  and rattled him. Along with his ODI career, his Test career too prospered. But after his success in the 2003 World Cup, Tennis elbow affected his career. In the year 2004, it seemed that he was finished and there was a criticism against Sahin that he is playing only for statistics and doesn’s bother about India’s victory or loss.  In one of the Test matches against England, Mumbai fans booed the son of their soil.

Australia cricket commentator Ian Chappell criticized Sachin and called him selfish, “If he is really playing for this reason and not to help as many matches as he can for India, he was wasting his time.” Ian referred to Sachin’s bad performance and the popular allegation that he was dragging his career for the personal achievements.

In the year 2005, Tendulkar had undergone an elbow operation, following that operation a different Sachin emerged in world cricket. He helped India win the 2008-2009 VB series in Australia.  He scored double hundred against South Africa in ODI cricket. He was the first batsman to score a double hundred in ODI cricket.

He scored hundred at Lord’s and in South Africa. People were amazed by his prolific stroke play. He again emerged India’s highest runs scorer in the 2011 World Cup.  When he bid adieu to the game people bid him goodbye in tears as Indian cricket’s favorite player would not play cricket anymore.
