The rapport which MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh share is pretty unique indeed. The duo has come a really long way since their under 19 days and has gone on to finish countless games for India. It is no surprise that this pair in ODI averages more than 50 in the 64 innings in which they’ve batted together. From the middle of 2000’s to the beginning of 2010’s, this duo has been a complete game changer for the men in blue.
Recently, in a warm-up game against England at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, MS Dhoni captained any form of team India for the very last time. The game was quite a celebrated affair as it was the final chapter in one the most glorious books for team India.
Along with Dhoni’s final game as the skipper, it also marked flamboyant batsman Yuvraj Singh’s return to the national setup. The southpaw announced himself in style as he made a quick fire 50 to ensure that his form was still pretty crisp.
The icing on the cake came when Dhoni himself finished with a flurry as his 40-ball 68 powered the hosts to a commanding total.
Post the game, the pair was involved in a rather comical discussion as they reflected down the memory lane. Yuvraj, being the generous guy, thanked Dhoni for always supporting him and being India’s man in charge during several victorious tournaments.
Likewise, Dhoni too was full in awe of Yuvraj as he mentioned the latter’s feat of six sixes in an over to Stuart Broad as a distinct memory. In order to check what Dhoni said when asked about playing with liberty, check out the video below, which was uploaded by Yuvraj on his Instagram account.
