Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016/17: Rohit Sharma Fails On Return, Out For 16

The Indian batsman Rohit Sharma failed on his return to competitive cricket as he just played an innings of 16. Rohit came out to bat at number four position for Mumbai when they were two down on a score of 31. The onus was on the Mumbaikar to pull his team out of the pit and announce his arrival with a bang.
He started off well as his innings of 16 comprised of two boundaries but when he was getting in the groove, the Andhra bowler P Gopinath Reddy got him caught by KS Bharat. Rohit had just started to get in touch but Andhra bowlers did not let him play big innings.
Rohit will be playing one more Vijay Hazare game on March six and this will be the last opportunity for him to attract the interest of selectors towards him. He has been out of the game from past four months and has to come up with some solid performance in order to make a comeback in the Test squad as selectors are yet to announce the squad for the last two Test matches against Australia and they will have their keen eye on Rohit Sharma.
