Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016/17: Suresh Raina To Lead Uttar Pradesh, Parvez Rasool To Captain Jammu & Kashmir

The Indian batsman Suresh Raina has been appointed as the skipper of the Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016/17. Raina recently made a comeback to the national squad for the T20I series against England where he scored 104 runs in three innings.

Apart from Raina, the squad also includes Indian pacer Praveen Kumar and spinner Piyush Chawla. The team will be missing out on the services of chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who has been called in the Indian Test squad for the first two Test matches against Australia.

Uttar Pradesh will play its first game against on February 26 against Tamil Nadu in Odisha.

Uttar Pradesh squad: Suresh Raina (c), Prashant Gupta, Akshdeep Nath, Amit Mishra, Shivam Chaudhary, Piyush Chawla, Eklavya Dwivedi (wk), Sarfaraz Khan, Praveen Kumar, Mohd Israr, Deependra Pandey, Ankit Rajpoot, Samarth Singh, Saurabh Kumar, Umang Sharma, Rinku Singh.

  • Parvez Rasool To Lead Jammu and Kashmir –

Parvez Rasool has been appointed as the skipper of the Jammu and Kashmir side for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016/17. Mithun Manhas, who was recently appointed as the assistant coach of the Kings XI Punjab, will perform the duties of Head Coach of the side.

The squad also includes Puneet Bisht, who switched to Jammu and Kashmir from Delhi before the start of the season. Young batsman Shubham Khajuria, senior player Ian Dev Singh and fast bowler Umar Nazir have also been named in the team.

Jammu and Kashmir will play its first game against on February 25 against Hyderabad in Kolkata.
