Vijay Hazare Trophy: Umesh Yadav Likely to Play for Vidarbha
Team India pacer, Umesh Yadav is likely to represent Vidarbha in the upcoming Vijay Hazare One-Day Trophy starting from September 19.
Meanwhile, Umesh was only a part of the first Test against England at Edgbaston. She bagged three wickets in that game, although India lost the match. Since then, Jasprit Bumrah replaced him in the first XI and had done significantly well.
Furthermore, Umesh Yadav was a part of the India squad for the limited-over series. But, he subsequently missed on the Asia Cup 2018 squad starting from September 15 at the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
As a result, Umesh Yadav has high chances to feature for Vidarbha at the start of the tournament. Vidarbha is in the Elite A Group and will start their campaign against Baroda on September 20.
Yadav hadn’t been part of the Indian One-day squad after the Australia One-day series last year. The Vijay Hazare Trophy will give him a good opportunity to showcase his form in the white-ball cricket. He had an outstanding Indian Premier League (IPL) this year with the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The next assignment of Umesh Yadav will be against Windies when they square off starting from October 4. Umesh will be keen to get back his spot which he lost to Bumrah in the recently concluded series.
