Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli wants to pursue the job of batting consultant in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He opined that he wanted to pass on the beneficial knowledge he has to the young generation in the T20 League.

Kambli was a prominent player for India in ODIs, but his cricket career ended at a young age because of a bad shin injury. He also could not make a debut in the IPL as a player because he went under surgery. But now he wants to start new innings in a different profession.

“I’m available for any team as a batting consultant. Due to the operation on my shin, I couldn’t run and thus couldn’t play in the first edition of the IPL in 2008. I eventually pulled out of the Mumbai Ranji team and retired. I still have a rod in my left leg! However, it’s been my dream to be a batting consultant with one of the teams in the IPL,” Vinod Kambli told TOI.

Vinod Kambli has prepared himself fully for the position:

He stated that he kept a close eye on IPL 2020 to have a good database of players. As leg-spinners were more successful, Kambli is confident that he can give tips to batsmen on how to dominate against them.

“I’ve played and watched a lot of cricket. I’ve a lot of anecdotes that I can share with the youngsters. I want to assist them. Maza ayega (It will be a joy) to assist and boost the young generation,” Vinod Kambli added.
If you follow me on Instagram and twitter, you’d have seen that I followed IPL 2020 very closely. All the leg-spinners were bowling googlies. It’s a challenge to face so many googlies, and I can help the batsmen in that regard,” said the left-hander.
