Virat Kohli Abused Anil Kumble Ahead Of Champions Trophy Final: Sources
In the latest news in a tussle between Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli, it has been learnt that the Indian skipper even abused the Head Coach of the side, two days ahead of the final of ICC Champions Trophy during the team meeting. As per the reports, Kohli informed Kumble that players were not at all happy with his style.
Earlier, it was learnt that Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of BCCI met few of the Indian players to discuss regarding Anil Kumble and all the ten players they met, opposed Kumble’s re-appointment in the post. This gave a clear indication that everything was not well between coach and skipper and thus, Kumble resigned from the post.
Kumble though already gave an indication regarding quitting the post when he did not travel with the Indian team to West Indies for the limited overs series and on the same day, he stepped down as the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team. Though his contract had already expired with the conclusion of Champions Trophy; but BCCI gave him an extension for the series against West Indies. Kumble though was not interested in renewing the contract for even one series.
The former Head Coach issued a statement on the same day and mentioned that his relation with the Indin skipper was untenable. The conflict of the ideas were the obvious reasons for this and with news of Kohli abusing Kumble coming in open, it is the biggest part of this saga.
It’s surprising to see both of them not matching an eye with each other as Kumble and Kohli have been part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp during IPL when Kohli was just establishing himself in the big league. Kohli played for RCB when Kumble was the captain of the side for certain period.
Last year, when Kumble was given the charge of Head Coach of Indian cricket team, it looked like both will have a good time as they had spent time in RCB camp as well but differences began to take place right from the first series after Kumble took over the role followed by continuing mismatch of attitudes, which resulted in the highest wicket taker for India in Test and ODI cricket giving up the job.
