Following the consistent failures in ICC competitions over the last one decade, Team India are looking set to make some big calls ahead of the next T20 World Cup. Team India missed another opportunity to win an ICC title last week when they lost the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia.
India have not won an ICC tournament since legendary MS Dhoni led them to glory in the 2013 Champions Trophy. And with a T20 World Cup lined up next year, India are set to make some big calls. Current skipper Rohit Sharma and his predecessor Virat Kohli are reportedly set to be axed from the T20I team as India look to build a new-look and strong squad.
Both Virat Kohli and Rohit are set to be a part of India’s squad for the 50-over World Cup at home this year but are unlikely to play in the T20 World Cup. Since the end of the T20 World Cup last year, Hardik Pandya has been leading the T20I team and it looks certain that he would be announced as the permanent captain soon.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli to be dropped:
According to a report in PTI, the likes of Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma are likely to get chances in the T20I team after impressing in IPL. Both the players impressed with their finishing abilities in the last couple of seasons of the IPL.
Rinku had his best campaign in the IPL this year where he scored 474 runs at a strike rate of 149.52. Jitesh, on the other hand, scored 309 runs at a strike rate of 156.06. The likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal are also set to get the nod for the T20I side.
India’s next T20I assignment is a five-match series against the West Indies. It will be played after two Tests and three ODIs between the two teams and one can expect a new-look Indian team in action.
