Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara have risen in ICC Test Rankings for batsmen while Ajinkya Rahane, who scored just 14 runs in the Rajkot Test vs England, has dropped by four places and is now in the ninth spot.
Indian skipper Kohli has seen a growth and is now on 14th rank while Pujara also has is now at the 11th rank. Murali Vijay also saw a small rise as the centurion of the first Test is now on 23rd rank with 661 points in his account.
England’s Joe Root, who scored a century in the first innings, has climbed one place and is now on the second spot after the table-topper Steven Smith. Alastair Cook too has been benefitted and has made an entry in top 10. Debutant Haseeb Hameed has started his career from a ranking of 64.
The Indian office R.Ashwin still requires the top spot whereas Jadeja too has retained his place and is in the seventh position. Stuart Broad, who played his 100th Test match has slipped by one rank.
Rangana Herath, who scalped 19 wickets in the Zimbabwe Tests, is now at the second position, succeeding India’s offie Ravichandran Ashwin.
