KL Rahul, SHikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, India vs Australia

After performing the best in the recent home T20I series against Sri Lanka, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul have put the team management under big trouble. But the Indian captain Virat Kohli believes that the two teammates are fighting for one position is not healthy for team culture.

KL Rahul or Shikhar Dhawan in Virat Kohli’s game plan:

As the T20 World Cup is lined up this year, the team management has the big responsibility to choose the best playing XI for the tournament. While Virat Kohli suggests that the player is best in the form will likely get the chance, he has also hinted that both Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul might play in the final XI. It will lead to the demotion of Virat Kohli’s position at No.4.

“Look, a guy in form is always good for the team. …You obviously want to have the best players available and then chose what the combination should be for the team. There might be a possibility that all three (Rohit, Shikhar, and Rahul) might play. It will be interesting to see what balance we want to take in on the field,” Kohli said on the eve of the match.

Following this, Virat Kohli also urged the media not to telecast the programmes which show the fight between two teammates for the position in the team. According to him, it might disturb the environment within the team.

” I want to say this publicly because I see so many features and programmes being made about this versus this. We are a team and playing together. I don’t find the sense in heat is going up and they are fighting for one spot. It does not send the right message as far as the team culture is concerned,” Virat Kohli said ahead of the first ODI match against Australia.

Meanwhile, India and Australia will head to play the three-match ODI series, starting from 14th January at Mumbai. Second and third are scheduled in Rajkot (17th January) and Bangalore (19th January).
