Indian skipper Virat Kohli has sent his best wishes to the man of the hour – Yuvraj Singh. Kohli sent congratulations to the former Indian batsman. Yuvraj Singh decided to hang his boots from International and First-class career with immediate effect. The southpaw batsman made the announcement in the press conference in Mumbai on 10 June.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh will go down as one of the best batsmen ever produced by the Indian team. Yuvraj Singh was a One-Day giant and brought his best to the table in the big matches for the India National Cricket Team.
Yuvraj Singh bids adieu to the game.
The left-hander amassed 11788 runs in his International career across the three formats in the 404 matches he played. Yuvraj Singh’s career peak point came when he was awarded the Man of the Tournament in India’s World Cup triumph in 2011.
Yuvraj Singh scored 362 runs and scalped 15 wickets in the World Cup 2011 and played a major role in India’s second World Cup success. He also scalped best bowling figures for India in World Cup as he took 5-31 against Ireland. In fact, there was never a word like ‘give up’ in Yuvraj Singh’s dictionary. He was always a player who gave his 120% on the field and never backed down.
Furthermore, Yuvraj Singh played a big role in the big matches for the Indian team. He scored a fine knock of 70 runs from 30 balls in the semi-final contest against Australia in the 2007 T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh share a great bonhomie with each other and both were involved in some great partnerships.
