While political relations between India and Pakistan are not very encouraging at the moment, cricket players from either side of the border has not let the escalating tension to affect the camaraderie between them. In a beautiful gesture, Team India captain Virat Kohli gifted a signed bat to Shahid Afridi Foundation.

Delighted with the gesture, Afridi took to Twitter to thank the Indian batting star.

“Thank you @imVkohli for your kind gesture in support of @SAFoundationN. Friends & supporters like you ensure #HopeNotOut for everyone,” wrote the former Pakistan captain attaching a picture of the bat.

And as soon as Afridi tweeted, Kohli returned the favour by tweeting: “You’re most welcome Shahid Bhai.. Wishing you and the @SAFoundationN all the luck for the upcoming events. ☺️ #HopeNotOut”

Earlier this year, Team India had gifted a signed jersey to Africa after the maverick all-rounder retired from the international cricket.

The jersey fetched Rs 3 lakhs at an auction in London which will go to the organisation with a noble mission. The auction took place in the United Kingdom where a dinner was organised by the Shahid Afridi Foundation. The swashbuckling batsman was also present during the auction.

Recently, India played Pakistan in the final of the Champions Trophy where the Men in Green had thrashed the Men in Blue by a whooping margin of 180 runs. But despite the heavy defeat, the Indian players including Kohli was seen sharing a light moment with the Pakistani players during the presentation ceremony.
