Team India skipper Virat Kohli has become the first person from India to have 50 million followers on the micro-picture blogging website – Instagram. Kohli is not only popular because of his game but has also gained fame owing to his physique and work ethic.

The 31-year-old is also India’s most valuable celebrity. According to a study by a global advisory firm, Duff and Phelps, Kohli topped the brand valuation list for the third consecutive year, as his value rose by an impressive 39 per cent to $237.5 million in 2019.

The 31-year old has so far made 930 posts on the platform and his social media posts continue to entertain the fans worldwide. He keeps updating his fans about his day-to-day activity while also shares some inside story of the dressing room.

Well, Kohli also utilises his Instagram to promote his own brand One8 which works in collaboration with German sports lifestyle brand Puma. Beside One8, he also endorses many other brands — Wrogn and Audi.

In terms of Indians with the most number of followers, Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra is on the second spot with 49.9M followers while Deepika Padukone is in third place with 44.1M followers.

Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is followed by more than 34.5 million users on Instagram.

Overall, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo has the most number of followers on Instagram’s official account with 200 million followers.

Besides, Kohli has achieved new feats with his extraordinary batting. Recently, after scoring a half-century in the first ODI match against New Zealand, he surpassed the record of Sourav Ganguly in the list of most ODI runs by an Indian captain.

Meanwhile, the No.1 Test cricketer will lead the team in the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand from 21st February in Wellington.
