The pink ball didn’t affect the Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s performance under the light. The skipper has registered new records in India’s first day-night Test match against Bangladesh in Kolkata.

The skipper scored his first Test century in the Pink ball game. He is being called as the first Indian to register a century with the Pink ball while he is not the first. The record is held by former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid.

In 2011, Rahul Dravid while playing the County Championship scored the century for MCC. In an MCC match against Nottinghamshire, the pink ball was used and the former cricketer was the part of that match. Dravid in the first innings got out on duck before adding a ton for his team and handing over the victory to MCC by 174 runs.

Meanwhile, the swashbuckling Virat Kohli has become the second batsman as a captain to have the most number of Test century surpassing the record of Ricky Ponting. In Eden Gardens, he scored his 20th Test century while former Australian cricketer has scored 19 centuries in the longest format. The list is topped by former South Africa captain Graeme Smith with an impressive 25 Test tons as captain.

Virat has now 70 international centuries in his name. It is expected that he will break the record of Sachin Tendulkar who scored 100 international centuries in his career. He is also become the fastest Indian captain to score 5000 runs in Test cricket.
