After a disappointing Indian Premier League season came to an end with a consolation 10-run win over Delhi Daredevils on Sunday (May 14), Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli will hope that his fortune changes when he leads India in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in England.
The Royal Challengers finished the season with just 3 wins under their belt and the season did not turn out as expected for Kohli too, The India skipper, who had scored a staggering 973 runs in the last edition, managed just 308 runs this season at a modest average of 30.80. But now that the season has ended, the 28-year old dashing batsman will shift his focus on the all-important Champions Trophy which begins from June 1 in England. But defending the title in England, it seems, is not the only thing that is on Kohli’s mind. The Indian captain is also holding a charity ball for the underprivileged children in England.
Kohli took to Twitter to announce he would be hosting the charity function for the underprivileged, on June 5 at The HAC Ground in London. The function would be held just a day after India begin their title defence against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 4.
I'm hosting a charity ball for the underprivileged on the 5th of June 17. Please help support my cause. See https://t.co/BGwuVFoHKR for more

“The Virat Kohli Charity Ball is the manifestation of a dream to inspire and bring about a transformative change to the future of the country. Virat’s chosen causes will be a key theme of the night and connected to leading charitable causes in India,” states a release from CSM.
The Indian cricket star will be joined on the evening by some of the biggest present and former players, which will make the function a star-studded affair.
